Competence Assessor for the Ready-Mix Industry and Transport Sector

With increasing demand for construction materials supply, we are pleased to expand our training & assessment activities, drawing in additional talent, knowledge, and experience to an already exceptional and passionate team. MinTrain have developed the Site Vehicle Competence Assessment (SVCA) which is a unique and conclusive measure of driver competence.

We are looking to engage on a sub-contract basis, with competent, skilled & knowledgeable drivers/operators who are enthusiastic and committed to making our industry safe, using their own experience to raise driver standards through training & competence assessment.

The role is suitable for self-employed freelance individuals who wish to expand their experience with an organisation that has an excellent reputation for standards & quality. MinTrain have a flexible approach with any existing work commitments. We are looking for national coverage with competitive remuneration.

Requirements:
Class 2 HGV licence (minimum)
Have relevant experience & be occupationally competent in the area in which they will be assessing.
Achieved an Assessor qualification or be working towards EMPI Awards Assessor Recognition within 6 months of commencement
Evidence and maintenance of CPD related to the subject area

Assessors will be responsible for:

  • Conducting SVCA© on operatives to include:
    • Planning assessments
    • Testing of knowledge
    • Practical observation of skills
    • Evaluation of experience gained in the job role
    • Discussion to evaluate understanding and other qualities
  • Determining the final SVCA© grade to be awarded
  • Contributing and participating in standardisation activities and events as required
  • Confirming that the driver/operative* is indeed competent to work unsupervised in the role

Operational expertise, effective communication & decision-making skills are mandatory. Competence assessment training & EMPI Awards Assessor Recognition can be provided where needed.

Occupational Competence Assessor For Mobile and Static Plant within Minerals Extractives and Mineral Processing

With increasing demand for construction materials supply, we are expanding our training & assessment activities, drawing in additional talent, knowledge, and experience to an already exceptional and passionate team. MinTrain are the lead provider of the EMPI Awards mobile & process plant Occupational Competence Assessment (OCA) which is a unique and conclusive measure of operator competence.

  • Requirements:
    Assessors must be occupationally competent in the area in which they will be assessing, acceptable forms of occupational competence for assessors could include, but are not limited to:
    • An appropriate Plant/Process VQ/QCF/NVQ
    • Relevant industry scheme plant operator cards
    • Relevant EMPI Awards OCA card/certificate
    • CV evidence with sufficient, credible, current CPD
  • Have work experience gained in the extractive, mining, mineral processing, and related products sector
  • Achieved an Assessor qualification or be working towards EMPI Awards Assessor Recognition within 6 months of commencement
